Kimmswick Applebutter FestivalCome enjoy the small town ambience, stroll through our streets lined with over 500 food, drink and craft vendors. Find that one of a kind item while enjoying the music that can be heard throughout town. Stop by the many quaint shops and enjoy the hospitality of the shop owners while seeing all they have to offer. Grab a tasty dessert from the Blue Owl Restaurant or stop by and have a sandwich at the Deli.

Don't forget the World Famous Kimmswick Historical Society Apple Butter, but be sure to make your purchase early as they have been known to sell out before the weekend ends.

Members of the society gather on Friday to peel and prepare the apples. Early, before dawn, on each day of the festival, the woodburning fire is lighted, the kettle is filled with apples, and cooking and stirring continues for seven to eight hours until the fragrant spread is thick enough to be sealed in jars.

Visitors are welcome and encouraged to come visit, help stir, and enjoy the ambiance at the pavilion. Apple butter is for sale each day or until the last jar is sold.

The festival also offers all the usual tasty treats such as funnel cakes, bloomin onions, shish kebobs, BBQ, kettle corn etc. There will also be fudge, caramel apples, and candy, be sure to stop by Cowboy Chris' BBQ sauce booth and take some home with you. You will find a little bit of everything at the Festival. There will be jewelry, flower arrangements, homemade crafts, candles, purses, woodworking, clothes, literally something for everyone, young or old, male or female. For the romantics there will be a Horse Drawn carriage ride. For the children there is a miniature train that goes through our town that will delight kids at any age. Don't pass up the petting zoo or pony rides, the kids love them.

There is only foot traffic allowed in town during the festival hours but there is plenty of parking at the Windsor School campus off of Hwy. 61/67 for a nominal donation, then a free shuttle bus will take you right to the action in town.
